FOMR volunteers performed maintenance on the river dock at Spring Commons Park/B&O. After the City of Youngstown power-washed the dock, volunteers removed remaining debris and plants growing on the floats, sending roots into seams. They then applied a water-base deck sealant to the wood deck of the dock and the access ramp. This sealant was chosen for being both effective and nonpolluting. After several days, a second coat was applied. The dock was overdue for maintenance, but this sealing work should preserve the wood for about two more years . Volunteers also used the high-capacity trimmer funded by the Wean Foundation Neighborhood SUCCESS grant to clear the walking trail between the B&O dock and the river dock at West Avenue
