On Wednesday, October 25 at 7pm, Bill Dale, Founder of Beach Buddies, will speak at Youngstown State University in Cushwa Hall, Rm. B100 (corner of Lincon & Elm).
Dale is known for founding the charity, Isle of Man Beach Buddies, which has engaged 10,000 volunteers to clean up the coastline of the Isle of Man, located between Ireland and the UK. His group collects thousands of tons of debris from Manx beaches every year and were recently recognized by a UNESCO director for high standards in their work as a beach cleaning charity.
Dale has been invited to lecture at YSU as well as other universities in Ohio, California, New York, Washington DC, New Zealand, Australia and Hawaii.
The Friends of the Mahoning River, a nonprofit organization that works to restore the quality of the Mahoning River, invites its members and partners to attend this event with them and learn more about the successful work of the Isle of Man Beach Buddies.
